Just a country road

Just a country road somewhere in East Tennessee. A sunny day in early autumn with tobacco cut and staked in the field. There aren't many tobacco crops around here nowdays since the government bought out the tobacco allotments from farmers.

Just a country road somewhere in East Tennessee. A sunny day in early autumn with tobacco cut and staked in the field. It will be taken to barns for curing until time for it to go to market. A lot of folks depended on their tobacco crop for Christmas money and to get them through the winter. There aren't many tobacco crops around here nowadays since the government bought out the tobacco allotments from farmers and they switched to alternative crops.

This one, "Just a Country Road" reminds me of going to the "country" when I was just a boy. My father had a great uncle that lived somewhere in Claiborne County and this reminds me of those Sunday afternoon drives when we visited. Thanks for the memories! Tony
